Amorphous

Monsters: Amorphous

Amorphous creatures are those that don't possess any real structural form physically--they have no real skeleton, carapace or other hard exterior to keep their bodies in a single, easily-recognizable shape:

Description: Amorphous creatures that live only to eat, black puddings inhabit underground areas throughout the world, scouring caverns, ruins and dungeons in search of organic matter (living or dead). They attack any creatures they encounter, lashing out with pseudopods or simply engulfing opponents with their bodies. They are nearly immune to all weapon attacks (even magical ones), suffering just one point of damage per hit.

BrowserQuests monster depiction (Gelatinous Cube)
  • Armor Class: 4
  • Hit Dice: 4
  • Attacks:
    • Body Slam (2d4) + Paralysis
  • Special Defenses:
    • Immune to Charm Person
    • Immune to Hold Person
  • Save As: Fighter
  • Morale: 12
  • Experience Points: 280

Description: The nearly transparent gelatinous cube travels slowly along dungeon corridors and cave floors, absorbing carrion, creatures and trash. Inorganic material remains trapped and visible inside the cube's body. A gelatinous cube attacks by slamming its body into its prey.

BrowserQuests monster depiction (Green Slime)
  • Armor Class: 8
  • Hit Dice: 2
  • Attacks:
    • Touch (2d6 +2) + Disease
  • Special Defenses:
    • Near-Immunity to ALL Weapons
  • Save As: Fighter
  • Morale: 12
  • Experience Points: 125

Description: Green slime devours flesh and organic materials on contact and is even capable of dissolving metal given enough time. Bright green, wet and sticky, it clings to walls, floors and ceilings in patches, reproducing as it consumes organic matter. Green slime drops from walls and ceilings when it detects movement (and possible food) below. Further, weapons (even magical ones) only cause a single hit point of damage per hit, so slimes can be challenging when encountered.
